Wine tasting, fabulous accommodations, spas and exquisite dinners are just a little of what you have to look forward to on this wonderful tour of the wine country in California.
Day One
We rendezvous this afternoon in Sonoma at the Sonoma Mission Inn and Spa. Here you can decide if you would like to spend the day at the spa or go for a warm up ride along country roads to the Domaine Carneros Winery. This classic chateau and state of the art winery is set among 110 acres of vineyards and is considered one of the most beautiful wineries in North America. After the tour we will sit on the verandah that over looks verdant rolling hills and enjoy our first tasting of world class sparkling wine. Later we retreat back to the luxurious Sonoma Mission Inn & Spa where we'll spend the evening. This inn is set upon 10 acres of Northern California's magnificent wine country. Tonight we enjoy an extravagant dinner at the Sonoma Mission Restaurant which is praised by Gourmet Magazine as "the best of the new Wine Country style."
Day Two
After a wonderful breakfast, we ride down the forested Sonoma-Napa Mountains into the celestial green valley stopping at wineries along the way. We will visit the Montecello Cellars where we break for a picnic lunch and wine tasting. Here you can try the Corley Family's prized Chardonnay which is exclusively produced in the Oak Knoll District that we cycle through. We then pedal on to Yountville where you will enjoy an appetizing dinner at the exquisite Domaine Chandon Winery. Afterwards, retreat to your suite at the Vintage Inn.
Day Three
Wake up early and watch the sunrise over the Napa Valley or take a morning swim in the pool before breakfast. This four star French chateau is not only romantic, but is also distinguished for the gourmet Champaign brunch you will be served. After everyone has assembled, we will pedal north along the Silverado Trail. You can stop to visit one of the many family wineries along the way. We break for lunch and souvenir shopping in the small town of St. Helena. Afterwards, we pedal onward to the Mount View Hotel in the heart of Calistoga. Tonight we will tantalize your taste buds with an extravagant meal. As the evening comes to an end, you can relax your muscles in the hot tub.
Day Four
Today is a layover day. You can choose to do whatever you like. Sleep in and then check out the golf coarse, wake up early to watch the sunrise from the view of a hot air balloon, visit wineries, go shopping or spend the day being pampered at the spa -the choice is yours! Tonight we dine at the world renowned Catahoula Restaurant and Saloon.
Day Five
After breakfast, we get back on our bikes and head out through the Knights Valley. Along the way, you can stop to see California's Old Faithful Geyser. This natural wonder shoots 350 degree water, 60 feet into the air. This afternoon we break for a picnic lunch at the Field Stone Winery. Afterwards, we cycle onward to Healdsburg. Here we will stay at Healdsburg's newest and most luxurious, Hotel Healdsburg. In the heart of the historic town plaza this world class hotel is only minutes away from Sonoma County's finest wineries. We dine tonight at the Dry Creek Kitchen, created by one of America's leading chefs, Charlie Palmer.
