Getting to the San Juan Islands is beautiful and relatively easy. The information below provides some detailed information on getting here. Feel free to contact us if you need any help with your travel plans.
We will start on San Juan Island (Friday Harbor, WA) and end on San Juan Island, Orcas Island or Lopez Island; depending on the length of your trip. We will meet you at our shop in Friday Harbor on the first day of your trip. At the end of your trip we will drop you off at the ferry terminal, your island hotel, or local island airport depending upon your mode of transportation. If you have any questions, just ask us.
Meeting Time: We meet up between 10:00am and 11:00am depending on ferry schedules and flight schedules. Our meeting point is at our shop, located at 40 Spring Street in downtown Friday Harbor, just 1/2 block from the ferry terminal. If you have any questions, just ask us.
Departing Location: Washington State Ferry Terminal in Friday Harbor , the Friday Harbor Airport or the Port of Friday Harbor depending on your choice of transportation.
Departing time: Approximately 3:00pm-5:00pm.
We will meet you at our shop in downtown Friday Harbor so all you have to do is get here! The most common ways to get to Friday Harbor from the Seattle area are:
Drive your own car, a rental or take the Airporter Shuttle to Anacortes (about 2 hours from Seattle and then walk-on (highly recommended - no ferry lines) or drive-on the Washington State Ferry to Friday Harbor (just over 1 hour). As of January 5th 2015 the Washington State Ferry system accepts reservations. Reservations are highly recommended if you plan on bringing your vehicle to the islands. Visit this website to make ferry reservations. Reservations are not required if you plan on leaving your car in Anacortes and "walking on" the ferry.
Board the Victoria Clipper as a walk-on from downtown Seattle and get off in Friday Harbor (about 3-3.5 hours).
Take a 40 minute flight to Friday Harbor with Friday Harbor Seaplanes ( from Renton ) or Kenmore Air ( from downtown Seattle or SeaTac International Airport ).

Drive through Anacortes and turn left at the light next to Safeway. Continue on this road until you come to the Washington State Ferry terminal. Park your car at the terminal and walk-on as a foot passenger or drive-on with your car. If you plan to drive on the ferry you should arrive at the ferry terminal 90 minutes to 2 hours in advance depending on the day.(Total Drive Time from 2 hours). We plan our kayak tours around the ferry schedule.
